Market Check Scarf

Harris Elliott, creator of Le Tings, explains: "This scarf is inspired by the iconic check-patterned nylon laundry bags. In African cultures, these bags are known as ‘Ghana Must Go Bags’, a term that was first used in 1983 when a million Ghanaians had to leave Nigeria. They used the laundry bags to carry all their belongings to move back home. We love this print and colourway as it is nostalgic and iconic on a local level for people in inner-city areas from London to Ghana to carry and store things."

The two colourways represent Le Tings’ heritage with the use of Jamaican colours (black, green, gold) and Ghanaian colours (red, gold, green).

The scarf has our classic scarf dimension of 35cm x 180cm and with a non-brushed finish, the drape and feel are silky and smooth.
